Over Veteran's Day Weekend, 15 Calabasas High School Model United Nations (MUN) students competed at the Stanford University Model United Nations Conference in Palo Alto. Out of 47 schools, Calabasas High School placed 1st! This was an amazing achievement considering most of the competing schools and students had prior experience; many having participated in Model UN classes for over a decade. Additionally, Las Virgenes students were competing while their families were experiencing evacuations at home due to the California wildfires.
Model UN Advisor Brad Boelman shared, “This win speaks to the "grittiness" of our CHS students and I could not be more proud of how they represented our community!”
The following Model United Nation students competed in the competition:
Christine Aghjayan 1st Place Individual
Alexander Cohen 2nd Place Individual
Allie Lee Research Award
Ethan Lee 1st Place Individual
Nick Salit 2nd Place Individual
Toby Schwartz 1st Place Individual
Sanath Sengupta 2nd Place Individual

LVUSD offers their heartfelt congratulations to the CHS MUN team on this impressive accomplishment! In recognition of their achievement, the team has been invited to compete in the The North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) Conference taking place in February, at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
