Weekly Message

Dear Willow Families,

Thank you for coming out for our Willow staff parade this week! Our staff had a fabulous time seeing our students and families. The hand-made signs and messages you had prepared for us were heartwarming. Thank you to our LVUSD Board President Lesli Stein, Vice President Angela Cutbill, Board Member Mathy Wasserman, Mayor Illece Buckley Weber, Superintendent Dr. Dan Stepenosky, and Director of Curriculum and Athletics Steve Scifres for being our honored guests and joining us in the parade. Thanks also to the deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station for escorting us in the parade. We had so much fun that day and we hope you did too.

Next week, we will host materials and medication pickup for Willow families on June 2, 3, and 4th in front of the MPR. This will also be a time to drop off your children's library and classroom books. A volunteer, wearing personal protective equipment, will be there to accept and organize books. Mrs. Kawakami recently sent out notices on books that are checked out from our library. There are no fines due at this time, but we would like these books back to reshelve them for next year.

When you drive up to the front of the school at your family’s scheduled time, there will be three stations set up with volunteers at each one. The first station will be set up for you to pick up your child’s medication that was kept in the health office during the school year. The second station will be to drop off the library and classroom books. At the third station, you will be asked by a volunteer to state your children’s names and their teachers’ names. The volunteer will gather your child’s classroom materials, organized by class in the MPR, and place them in the trunk or back of your car. We ask that you do not exit your vehicle at any time as you stop at these stations. Our volunteers will practice social distancing protocols and will be wearing masks and gloves.

If your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader already has an Acer at home, they will keep them for the summer. Here are the days and times we have set up for families for materials pick up:

Tuesday, June 2nd:
9:00-10:00- Families with the last names A-D
10:00-11:00- Families with the last names E-G
11:00-12:00- Families with the last names H-K

Wednesday, June 3rd:
9:00-10:00- Families with the last names L-N
10:00-11:00- Families with the last names O-Sh
11:00-12:00- Families with the last names Si-Z

Thursday, June 4th:
9:00-10:00- Families that could not make the scheduled materials pick up on Wednesday or Thursday.

Our yearbooks will not be available at the supply drop off next week due to delays as a result of the pandemic. As soon as we have information on their arrival, we will notify you of the process for distribution.

As we begin planning for Fall 2020, and create classes, we will again consider parent input that is submitted through our special consideration form. This form will be available on our school website beginning June 1. Please note that requests for teachers cannot be accepted and it will invalidate a submitted form if a teacher request is made. All our teachers are phenomenal and differentiate for every child in every grade.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Principal Kintz
