Important Information for 5th Grade Matriculation

Dear 5th Grade Parents:

We hope your student is having a great year at Round Meadow Elementary! Now is the time to plan for your student’s enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year.

We will be sending out personalized letters indicating which middle school your student will be assigned to, as boundaries are sometimes difficult to interpret.  Please note which of the following pertains to your student for the 2023-2024 school year:

If you live…

For the 23-24 year, your assigned Middle School for 6th grade is…

Within the Bell Canyon or West Hills (LVUSD) boundaries

A.C. Stelle Middle School

Within Round Meadow communities (Other than listed above)

A.E. Wright Middle School

Within LVUSD boundaries and are at Round Meadow on a School of Choice permit

Enter your address on the LVUSD School Locator. Go to lvusd.org, select Parents tab, then Find Your School tab

Outside of LVUSD

A.E. Wright Middle School

Would your student prefer a different Middle School in the district?

If you wish your student to attend another middle school in the district, you will need to complete a School of Choice permit.  To apply for a SOC permit, go to www.lvusd.org/schoolofchoice and follow the instructions. The SOC application window is November 21, 2022 to February 1, 2023. Applying for a School of Choice permit is not a guarantee of transfer to the requested school, but we will make every effort to accommodate the request.

Are you attending on an Interdistrict Transfer Permit (IDT):

If your student is attending Round Meadow on an Interdistrict Transfer Permit, you have already been released from your home district and approved to attend Las Virgenes.  Therefore,  parents do not need to reapply for an Interdistrict Transfer Permit to attend A.E. Wright.unless there is a change in your home address.

Please note when your student gets to the 8th grade:

All students who are currently attending under a School of Choice or Interdistrict permit , MAY be required to fill out a new school of choice request, whenever they matriculate to a new school level. If your student is in good standing, you are assured placement at one of our LVUSD campuses. We need this application to allocate spots as there is not a guarantee of transfer to the requested school. We will make every effort to accommodate the request.

Are you planning on leaving LVUSD?

If you would like your student to attend a private middle school or you are moving to another area and school district, please notify the main office at Round Meadow so your student’s records can be transferred properly.

If you are a current resident and wish to attend another public school district, you must apply for a permit to be released from LVUSD. To apply for an outgoing permit go to www.lvusd.org/permits  scroll to the bottom and select Interdistrict Permits (outgoing) and follow the instructions. The Outgoing application window is November 21, 2022 to February 1, 2023.

If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact Ali in the Permits Department.
