C.U.B.S. NEWS

Principal’s Message

Happy Friday, C.U.B.S!Between now and the last day of school, we are busy! One of my favorite anonymous quotes for the end of the year is, “What feels like the end is often the beginning.”  Whether you are a student moving on to another grade, or someone moving to a new job, or a new home, the end of one, signals the beginning of a fresh start somewhere. At Chaparral, we are working hard to finish the year to be ready for a new school opening in August of 2022. Go C.U.B.S!

Open House and 5th grade State Fair were amazing! I went through all the classes today where our students shared how much they loved vising Chaparral with their families. They enjoyed seeing friends and visiting our specialists including art and music, the Library, our Counselor, the playground, and the areas they go to during their school day. From my informal inventory, it seems that about 95% or higher of our families attended. It was a unified community event! I want to thank our teachers and specialists for working extra hours to prepare their classrooms and all our staff who came back in the evening to participate and meet everyone. I was so proud of all of our C.U.B.S!

We will have one last Spirit Challenge Week right after Memorial Day to finish out the year. Our traditional “Wacky Week” is May 31st through June 3rd. This week is always a fun way to show your CUB spirit in a “wacky” way.  Click Here for May 31 - June 3 Spirit Challenges

I am sure you remember me saying this year and last that the only thing we can count on is that things will change. COVID numbers have been higher in L.A. County, and I do not want our plans for the end of the year to change, as we are almost there. We do not have control over many things, but let’s continue to be vigilant and remember to make choices that will help keep your family and all C.U.B.S. safe.

Have a beautiful weekend!
Take care, and be well!
