6/8 Culmination

On Wednesday, June 8th, eligible eighth grade students will participate in their culmination ceremony at Lindero Canyon Middle School on the athletic field. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Students must arrive and be prepared to line up in the gymnasium for the processional by 5:30 PM. The ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM and will last until approximately 7:15 PM. Tickets are not required for parents and guests. However, an adult must accompany and sit with guests under 18 years of age.

Parking for culmination dignitaries and teachers will be reserved. A drop-off area will be through the gate at the Rainbow View entrance with security guards posted to direct traffic. Vehicles with handicapped placards may use the remaining spaces on a first-come, first-serve basis in the parking lot on Larboard Lane. All other parking will be on the street in the school’s neighborhood. On our neighbors’ behalf, we ask that you please be considerate of their property.

Since there are very few shady areas on the field, we recommend that guests use sunscreen and wear hats. Umbrellas or parasols are not allowed because they block the view of others. There is a water fountain near the field entrance, and we invite you to fill your water bottle.

All students participating in the ceremony will wear their culmination robes. The robes will be distributed after rehearsal on June 7. School awarded pins such as  Honor Roll and Music are the only adornments permitted and encouraged to be worn on the robes.  The following attire is strongly recommended:

Long pants (no jeans), collared shirts, dresses and low-heeled shoes (for ease of walking in grass). Students are encouraged to wear the same shoes to rehearsal on June 7 as they are wearing to culmination on June 8.

Note: Sunglasses and hats are permitted at rehearsal on June 7 ONLY, but NOT at culmination on June 8. Students are strongly encouraged to wear sunscreen for both rehearsal and culmination. Culminating students may not carry cell phones, purses or backpacks during  rehearsal and the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, students will pick up their diplomas after returning from the recessional walk to the basketball courts. Please wait for them below the courts, near the “PE dots.”

We look forward to sharing this special evening with you.
