There will be two winners per grade; each will receive a $10 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble. All entries will be displayed and copies of the winners will be available. Entry forms are available in the Media Center. Entries must be turned in by the end of the day on October 13th.

    PLUS, STUDENTS: A message from Eagles’ Café: Remember that when you are in the Cafe, combo lunches come with choice of milk and at least one fruit or veggie.

And don’t forget to check out the banner outside the Library where you can “Leave Your Mark” by tracing your hand to show that Stelle cares. Also, make sure your homeroom turns in the count of the number of students wearing yellow this morning. This is our first homeroom contest of the year.

Come to Drama Club today at lunch in E211; also starting this week is Dungeons & Dragons. It will meet in Mrs. Reynolds’s room, E103, on Thursdays and Fridays; you must get a club hall pass for these two clubs. The Ping Pong club will start tomorrow in the MPR at 12:10. Also, the Robotics team will meet after school today in D117.

Bring in your spare change and fill your grade’s bucket with only pennies, and fill other grade’s buckets with other types of change or bills. Everything that is not pennies will count against the grade. And don’t forget to check out the banner outside the Library where you can “Leave Your Mark” by tracing your hand to show that Stelle cares. Finally, wear something yellow tomorrow for our first homeroom contest!

    PLUS, STUDENTS: A nutrition fact by Eagles' Cafe'​: Did you know that Grapes are actually berries? On average, there are over 100 grapes in a bunch and there are more than 8,000 grape varieties from about 60 species. Grapes provide us with approximately 1 gram of fiber in every 60 calories. Antioxidants are also needed by our bodies, and grapes come through strong in the antioxidant category.

    ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: A nutrition fact by Eagles' Cafe'​: Did you know that apple trees take 4-5 years to produce their first fruit? There are over 7,500 types of apples grown around the world. They are a good source of potassium, vitamin C, and fiber. Fiber helps keep you full and keep your blood sugar level normal. One small apple is equal to about one cup of fruit.

    ATTENTION 7th & 8th GRADERS - HONOR SOCIETY NEWS: Tomorrow begins the application period for Honor Society membership and trips for 7th & 8th graders. All applications have strict deadlines, so don’t wait until the last minute to get your application. They will be on the counter outside the attendance office starting tomorrow.

    ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: The Ping Pong club will be starting soon. Please sign up to be part of the club; it will meet in the MPR when it starts.  Also, intramural soccer will begin soon. Please sign up to be placed on a team. All students are welcome! Sign-ups are outside the boys locker room.

    ALSO, STUDENTS:  Please be aware that if your lunch account balance falls to zero, the cafeteria is no longer allowed to provide an emergency lunch.     ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS - JUST A FEW REMINDERS: We’re still in for some warm weather and we just want to remind you that the dress code will be enforced. Shorts and skirts must be longer than your thumb when your arms are at your side; no bra or lingerie straps or bare midriffs should be visible.

    MEDIA CENTER NEWS: The Media Center is now open for regular business. You may now come sit and read or study quietly before school, at lunch, and after school. Remember - we close at 2:50 this year.

    LAPTOP UPDATE: We are now well supplied with the Acer B117 laptops. Anyone with the shiny old laptops needs to come swap the machine and charger for the newer models. The only people who got old machines checked them out on Monday or Tuesday this week. If you noticed any problems with your laptop or case, please see Mrs. Anderson in the Media Center as soon as possible. Sixth graders, you will receive laptops soon during your English classes. All students please be advised: you are not allowed to decorate the school district laptops. Also, do not carry the charger, a mouse, or anything lumpy in the case pocket.

    JUST A FEW REMINDERS: If you will be using the A. C. Stelle cafeteria, have your ID card and/or cash ready when you are in the lunch line. For regular lunch, line up on the sidewalk against the bus driveway.  For daily special with salad bar, line up against the glass wall.  Make sure to take a fruit or vegetable with your combo lunches and choose a milk, if you like.
