  • Daily Bulletin for September 16, 2019

    CLUB NEWS: There are some new clubs starting up this week. The Bracelet Project club will meet on full-day Wednesdays, starting this Wednesday, in Ms. Case’s room, E110; the Ballroom Dance club will meet on Thursdays in the gym.

    ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: This Friday is our first homeroom contest. Wear yellow this Friday, and then join us at Eagle stage as we welcome the Cordasco family. We’ll be presenting the money we raised for the Something Yellow Foundation to the family and we want everyone to join us. 

    ALSO, STUDENTS: If you did not receive your ID this year and you did have a photo taken by Lifetouch, check in the main office; it may be there. If not, visit the Library, as Mrs. Anderson now has the software to print them. If you’ve never had your photo taken by Lifetouch, Make-up and Retake photo day is Monday, October 7th at lunch, on the MPR stage. Don’t miss it!

    DID YOU KNOW: The full moon that occurs closest to the first day of fall is called a Harvest Moon. Tonight’s Harvest Moon is unlike most in that it coincides with Friday the 13th. The next time a full moon will coincide with Friday the 13th will be August 13, 2049.

    ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Today is your last chance to help your grade win the Penny Wars! This is to raise money for the Something Yellow Foundation.  Every penny, quarter, and dollar we raise goes to help kids who are fighting cancer.  Bring your change and paper money to the Eagle Stage today at lunch to help your grade level win! Remember, fill your grade’s bucket with only pennies, and fill other grade’s buckets with nickels, dimes and quarters, or even bills. Everything that is not pennies will count against the grade, but it all goes to a great cause! 

    ALSO, STUDENTS: Sign-ups continue today in the ballroom for intramural lunchtime soccer.

    DID YOU KNOW: Today is National Day of Encouragement. This day is dedicated to uplifting people around us and making a positive impact. Offering encouragement to someone is free. It never costs us anything to say a few words to inspire a student, coworker, or friend. Even a reassuring word to a stranger may make a difference in their lives.

    DID YOU KNOW Today is National Read a Book Day! Books are an inexpensive entertainment, educational tool and time machine, too! Reading improves memory and concentration as well as reduces stress.

    Students: If you received a replacement ID yesterday, it was because your old ID would not scan in the library. The OLD ID should be discarded, but if you don't know which ID is which, come to the library to find out. ALSO, if you did not receive your ID on photo make-up day Tuesday, drop by the Main Office to pick it up.

    ATTENTION 8th GRADERS: If you’re interested in the Washington D.C. trip that happens over spring break, please get the information from your Social Studies teacher.

    ATTENTION 7th GRADERS: Lists of students who’ve been accepted into Honor Society are now posted in the attendance office, as well as the list of students who are going on the Catalina trip.  There will be more information for you later in the month, so listen to morning announcements next week.

Please fill out the application with your June report card grades and citizenship marks as best you can. Turn it in to the counseling office on or before today at 4:00pm. Don’t miss out! Be sure to turn in your applications before the deadline. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Steele. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!

    ATTENTION 7th & 8th GRADERS - HONOR SOCIETY NEWS: Tomorrow, we will begin the application period for Honor Society membership for 7th & 8th graders, and for the 7th grade Catalina trip and the 8th grade Yosemite trip as well. The applications will be on the counter outside the attendance office, starting tomorrow morning.

    ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Now that the first week of school is over, the Library Media Center will now become a place for students who want to read, study, or do homework during lunch or nutrition break on minimum day Wednesdays. Please eat before you arrive since there is no eating or drinking allowed. Gaming is also not allowed. If you are not on task, you will be asked to leave to make room for students who will make better use of their time.

    JUST A FEW REMINDERS: Summer break may be over but we’re still in for some warm weather, and we just want to remind you that the A. C. Stelle dress code will be enforced. Shorts and skirts must be longer than your thumb when your arms are at your side; no bra or lingerie straps or bare midriffs should be visible; flip-flops are not allowed, and no clothing with inappropriate graphics or language may be worn to school.

    MEDIA CENTER NEWS: If you misplace your laptop, retrace your steps and ask your teachers to see if you can find it. If you can't find it, please go to the AP's Office because all found laptops are sent there. Sixth graders, you will receive laptops today during your English classes.

    MEDIA CENTER NEWS: The media center is open for business today. You are welcome to come in to check out a book or laptop, or to ask questions. However, we will have to close if the library overfills. Laptop information: if have any problems with your laptop or case, please see Mrs. Anderson in the Media Center as soon as possible. Sixth graders, you will receive laptops Friday during your English classes.
