ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: All library books are due tomorrow, Tuesday, June 6th, or when your teacher is done with the class novel. All textbooks are due by Friday, June 9th, at the latest. You may turn them in early if you wish. You must pay online for lost books through the link provided in your overdue notices.

Laptop check-in for 8th graders will occur during ELA classes on Friday, June 9th. Any student who is not attending ACS next year will ALSO need to turn in their laptop on this date. All other students will keep their laptops over the summer unless you'd rather not keep them.

It is an annual celebration that recognizes the historical and cultural contributions to the United States of individuals and groups of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Before school for the next few days, the library is only open to students who have business to transact. This means either checking books or laptops in or out, doing Renaissance book research, or printing. This restriction is a consequence of poor choices made by many students. Everyone knows that they aren't allowed to eat or drink, chew gum, use their cell phones, be disruptive or argumentative, or throw trash on the carpet in the library. Unfortunately, many students don't respect the rules and have ruined it for everyone.

PLUS, STUDENTS: Today is the start of Spring Spirit Week. Did you wear your Sleeping Beauty PJs?  Tomorrow, pick your favorite past decade for Decade Day!! We’d love to see your grooviest duds from the 50s, 60s, 70s or beyond. Then Wednesday, it’s a Hawaiian Holiday. Wear your best Hawaiian or touristy outfit. Also on Wednesday, there will be a flower hunt. Paper flowers will be hidden around campus; if you find one, bring it to Eagle stage at lunch to earn a prize. But remember, one per student.

ALSO, STUDENTS: Please be aware that math tutoring has been cancelled for TOMORROW. It will resume on Thursday.

ATTENTION 8^th GRADERS: This is a reminder that you only have the rest of this week to earn points back to be eligible for your Universal trip. You can earn 1 point for doing voluntary trash pick-up; or you can arrange to work for a teacher, for 1 point for every 20 minutes of work.  Check your point totals with Mrs. Burris in the AP office.

ALSO, 8^th GRADERS: Today is the start of the culmination cover contest.  This year’s culmination program cover will be designed by one of you! Your teachers have been given the instructions to post in the classrooms.  Please read the instructions carefully, and come to the AP office if you have any questions.  The program must illustrate this year’s theme, which is “Live in the Moment.”  All cover submissions are due by May 12^th.

FINALLY, ALL STUDENTS: A BIG “Thank you!” to all students for participating in Color Run!  We loved seeing you completely covered in colors and having a fun time running around the school.  We raised an impressive $28,000 which will go directly back to A.C. Stelle, so thank you so much for your fundraising efforts!  One last prize to announce -- congratulations to Mrs. Levin’s 5th period class who raised the most money and will get free slushies this Friday!

Free verse is a non-rhyming type of poetry that more closely resembles the phrasing and flow of natural speech. It's a powerful and compact way to tell a story. ATTENTION 8^th GRADERS: It’s time to vote for your choice for culmination theme and song. It will take place during period 1, and the ballot will close by the end of the period. So make sure you get your vote in!

Do not get on the bus until you’ve been told to by the teacher on that bus. You will return to A. C. Stelle around lunch time.  If you are here but not going on the trip, please come down to the attendance and/or AP office when your class leaves for the buses.

Class competition updates: Mrs. Levin’s 5th period is still in the lead with Mrs. Grantham’s 5th period, Mrs. Fleinblom’s 2nd period, and Mrs. Huddleston’s 1st period.  If our numbers keep going up, we will gladly give out more slushies!  Last but not least, a big shout out to our fabulous Math teachers for helping make this event a success!

Plus, there will be a shamrock hunt this morning. If you find a shamrock, bring it to Eagle stage today at nutrition to earn a prize. But remember, only one per student. Also at Eagle stage today, guess the number of Lucky Charms in a jar and maybe win a prize! Then, Thursday, “Chase the Rainbow” by wearing the colors of the rainbow – the more colorful the better! Also Thursday, test your skills in the “Pot of Gold” toss and you may win a spin on the prize wheel.

ALSO, STUDENTS: So far, for the Color Run, we have collected just over $5,000 due to your efforts!  Please continue to reach out to your friends and family for donations.  If we have 100% of the students raising at least $40 we will hit our goal!  There are only 8 days left!   Don't forget to also turn in your Pledge sheet so you are entered into the raffle for all the great prizes.  Please turn in your participation waivers ASAP if you haven’t already.
