Robbie Amodio, Director of Classified Personnel, has been with the Las Virgenes Unified School District since 1992. Ms. Amodio began her career in Las Virgenes as Office Manager at Bay Laurel Elementary School; she also worked for the District in the capacity of data analyst. Ms. Amodio was the recipient of the Las Virgenes Unified School District Employee of the Month award in 1999; the Essential Piece Award for her work on the Technology Training Team, as well as the 1999-­‐2000 Las Virgenes Unified School District Employee of the Year award. She is responsible for the risk management trainings throughout our district and is the recipient of an award from Keenan and Associates for the effective use of their training programs. Ms. Amodio has been an integral part of designing, developing and presenting staff development programs District-­‐wide. Working in conjunction with Dr. Dunn, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel, she assisted in the development and presentation of a pioneering program designed to foster employee teambuilding skills. She facilitates the Employee/Employer Relations Committee, working closely with the Las Virgenes Classified Association. As an active member of the Tri County Personnel Association, she is part of the team responsible for the annual Tri Counties Symposium, designing and implementing professional development for Personnel Directors in the Tri County area. Prior to joining the District, she worked in the field of Management Systems Consulting.

Mission:

The Personnel Department staff hires, develops and motivates employees who will be responsible for the achievement of the District’s goal of excellence in education and outstanding citizenship. They work with staff members to assist them in reaching their highest potential. This begins with recruitment and selection of highly trained 21st century communicators, matching their skills with the District’s needs, and ensuring they get appropriate feedback and training. The Personnel Department ensures effective two-­‐way communication with all employee groups and facilitates the collective bargaining process.
