Vision
All Agoura High School graduates are prepared and motivated to engage as active participants in a rapidly changing world. They have strong critical thinking skills, a global perspective, and a respect for the core values of honesty, loyalty, perseverance, and compassion. Agoura High School graduates are knowledgeable and caring Chargers who possess the skills and dispositions that assure their post-secondary success.
Mission
The Agoura High School Community is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive school community in which we recognize the importance of communication and encouraging dialogue among all constituencies; we promote intellectual and social growth and development; and we encourage students to explore and clarify their own beliefs and values, to take risks, and to think and speak for themselves.
Student Dispositions
Open-Minded:
We support understanding of the art of authentic listening. We critically appreciate our own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. We seek and evaluate diverse perspectives.
Respectful:
We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights of all people, while appreciating their diversity. We understand and embrace equity and access to opportunities for all. We support self-advocacy in times of conflict and understand that conflict is a part of relationship building.
Caring:
We practice empathy, compassion, and respect. We look for ways to give back to our community and have a commitment to service. We act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world around us. We are responsible, principled, and dignified in our discourse and interactions within our community.
Knowledgeable:
We support exploration of strengths and areas of interest and teach students to internalize the learning experience to set and evaluate learning goals. We develop and apply conceptual understanding, exploring knowledge across a range of disciplines. Our school community is engaged with issues and ideas that have local, national, and global significance. We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. We are resourceful and resilient in the face of challenges and change.
Inquiring:
We develop a love of learning that transcends grades and evaluation. We cultivate an environment where curious, self-directed students take responsible risks. We work with students to embrace and learn from failure and endure through struggle.

We cultivate a mindset of growth and balance. We support the development of emotional awareness and regulation.
Communicators:
We emphasize practice in discourse and speaking skills. We express ourselves confidently and creatively in many ways. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.
