One of the exciting new programs at the Las Virgenes Unified School District is our next-generation learning initiative: Forward Learning. This strategic "technology for learning" plan targets writing, content creation, media literacy, and Internet skills in a technology-rich environment.
Through this innovative program, students in grades 3 through 11 carry with them and use a small laptop throughout the school day, and engage in collaborative learning through the use of a variety of content and media creation, collaboration, self-evaluation, and online assessment tools.
Key goals for the program include:
- Increase academic achievement and meet Common Core State Standards
- Create globally-aware, college, career, and life-ready students
- Personalize learning in the classroom
