Reporting an Absence During Distance Learning:
To report an absence, please use this Online Form, email email@example.com, or call (818) 880-4614 x31225. You must include the student's name, grade, and reason for absence. During Distance Learning, also email the teacher(s) to let them know that your child will be absent.
If no contact is made on the day of the absence, your child must return to school with a note written and signed by the parent or guardian, stating the date(s) of and reason for the absence. The state of California requires that each student has a verified absence.
If a student has been absent a full day of school, (s)he should report to their classroom upon returning to school.
Make Up Work:
For absences of two days or fewer, students should contact their classmates for missed assignments and/or check the class websites.
On the third consecutive day of absence, contact Mrs. Osborne at (818) 880-4614 x31318 in the Main Office to arrange for make up work. Homework requests must be received by 8:30 am, in order to forward requests to teachers before the start of school. Homework can then be picked up in the Main Office between 3:30 and 4:00 pm.
Students have the right to complete make up work related to an excused absence; full credit will be given. The make up period shall be no less than the length of the absence plus one day. Teachers have no obligation to allow make up work for unexcused absences, truant absences, or days missed due to suspension.
