About The California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative
Through the California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), Las Virgenes Unified School District is able to seek reimbursement from participating private health insurance plans for eligible mental health and wellness services provided to students by our school-based counselors and mental health clinicians.
If you choose to provide your family's private health insurance information, LVUSD can submit claims for eligible services your student receives at school. There is no cost to your family. You will not receive a bill or be responsible for a co-pay, and these services will not affect your insurance deductible or out-of-pocket costs. You can support the CYBHI initiative by filling out the Google Form.
Why This Is Important
Reimbursement through CYBHI helps Las Virgenes Unified School District strengthen and sustain school-based mental health services. By participating, families help the District secure additional funding that supports students' access to these valuable services while allowing resources to be directed where they are needed most.
How to Participate
Participation requires annual parent/guardian consent. During the Annual Updates process each August, families will have the opportunity to opt in by providing the required consent and private health insurance information. Please complete the Google Form to support the CYBHI initiative for LVUSD.

The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a statewide effort to improve access to behavioral health services for California's children and young adults, from birth through age 25. As part of this initiative, Las Virgenes Unified School District is able to partner with participating private health insurance plans to receive reimbursement for eligible mental health and wellness services provided to students on campus.
These reimbursements help support school-based mental health programs and are processed separately from your family's personal health insurance claims. Families who choose to participate will not receive a bill or co-pay, and reimbursement for eligible school-based services does not affect insurance deductibles or out-of-pocket costs.
