Child Nutrition

The Child Nutrition Department is proud to be part of the District’s team. Our main goal is to support our educators in their efforts to improve student achievement. It is a proven fact that hungry minds cannot learn and cannot teach!
For the school year 2025-2026, California will continue to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for all school children. California's Universal Meals Program is designed to build on the foundations of the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP). The State Meal Mandate includes both a nutritiously adequate breakfast and lunch, free of charge, for all children each school day.
Child Nutrition Services is committed to providing healthy school meals and snacks to the students of Las Virgenes Unified School District to support academic success and promote healthful eating habits that lead to lifelong positive nutrition practices.
