Dear LVUSD Families, We are excited to be planning to bring secondary students back to campuses. Case rates have dropped dramatically, and it appears that Los Angeles county will soon reach the Red Tier which allows for the return of secondary students to limited in-person instruction. As of this writing, we anticipate that our county will fall into the Red Tier on March 17. In conjunction, we are excited to resume in-person instruction for our secondary students on Monday, March 22.
This NEW program allows students to search for service learning opportunities, sign up to volunteer for an agency (formally known as volunteer organizations), check into an event and log your hours. You can also write a 150 word reflection and get your hours approved all by using the Galaxy Digital app or via the website. Another great tool is you can print a Service Learning Transcript which will allow you to see all of your volunteer hours in one place. This is good for colleges and for your records. We feel this program will not only simplify things for you, the school and agency but it will take our service learning to a whole new level with this online program.
If your student is absent please fill out our google form that we have linked here. Click on "read more" to be directed to the google forms and the attendance policies and procedures. If your student was marked absent from a class(s) in error please email the teacher(s) directly. In order for that class absence to be cleared the teacher needs to verify via email that the student was in class. If your student attends Virtual Academy you will need to contact Brenda Evans with any questions or concerns.
