Mathematics Placement

    We believe in placing your child in a math class that will allow him/her to find success and enjoy mathematics. All placements are conducted at the end of the school year based upon the student's performance from the full Year. In order to maintain a current level of placement, students must maintain a final grade of A and/or B and teacher recommendation in the present course.

    Placement criteria
    Student How Placed Test
    8th graders Progress and success in class and teacher recommendation We may administer UCLA Algebra Placement test in May.
    7th graders Progress and success in class and teacher recommendation We may administer UCLA Algebra Placement test in May.
    6th graders Progress and success in class and teacher recommendation We may administer UCLA Pre-Algebra Placement test in May.
    5th graders Progress and success in class and teacher recommendation In March, 5th graders are tested (LVUSD 5th grade placement test) in their classroom.
    Students new to AC Stelle Call to make an appointment or ask in the Counseling Office
