Outdoor Education Program

    The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) proudly hosts the Las Virgenes Unified School District's Outdoor Education Program. Offered to all fifth grade students, LVUSD's Outdoor Education program takes place at Temescal Gateway Park in the Santa Monica Mountains. The program is a four day sleep-over camp which focuses on traditional outdoor education as well as leadership development, team building activities and standards-based lessons.

    • High schoolers: you can apply to be a High School Counselor at Outdoor Ed! Download the application here!
      • LVUSD is seeking junior and senior boys and senior girls to become high school counselors for Outdoor Ed. Remember how much you loved Outdoor Ed? Apply today to make a difference in some 5th graders' lives!
      • Application deadline: Friday, December 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
      • Mandatory Counselor Interviews: Thursday, January 17 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. OR Saturday, January 19 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
      • If you are chosen to be a counselor, you must attend a mandatory counselor training on one of these dates:
        • CHS: Monday, February 4th, 3-4 p.m. 
        • AHS: Wednesday, February 6th, 3-4 p.m.
