•  Outdoor Education Program

    The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) proudly hosts the Las Virgenes Unified School District's Outdoor Education Program. Offered to all fifth grade students, LVUSD's Outdoor Education program takes place at King Gillette Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains. The program is a five day sleep-over camp which focuses on traditional outdoor education as well as leadership development, team building activities and standards-based lessons.

      • LVUSD is seeking junior and senior boys and senior girls to become high school counselors for Outdoor Ed. Remember how much you loved Outdoor Ed? Apply today to make a difference in some 5th graders' lives!
      • Application deadline: Friday, December 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
      • Mandatory Counselor Interviews: Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. OR Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
      • If you are chosen to be a counselor, you must attend a mandatory counselor training on one of these dates:
        • CHS: Monday, February 10, 2020 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. 
        • AHS: Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
