• WALDORF COLORS

Rudolf Steiner wrote about how the rhythm in our days and weeks is important for the growth and development in children. Consequently, in Waldorf early childhood settings, a “color of the day” is often implemented. Although this concept is not explicitly “taught” to children, at Mariposa Kindergarten we do expose children to this principle. For example, you may have noticed our kinder teachers and aides wearing similar colors on the same day or how the color of the towels we use on particular days is always the same. Sometimes, children will wear clothing to coordinate with our color days of the week — but this entirely optional.
