Lindero Canyon Middle School is a member of the California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF).  CJSF is a state organization that is the middle school version of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF).  A CJSF chapter has been established on the Lindero campus to foster high standards of scholarship and citizenship.  In order to conform to their bylaws, membership qualifications are as follows:

Grades earned in 6th grade will qualify students for eligibility in "6th Grade Honor Society." Grades earned in 7th and 8th grade will qualify students for eligibility in "CJSF." Membership qualifications and requirements for Honor Society and CJSF are the same.

REQUIREMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP IN 6TH GRADE HONOR SOCIETY AND 7th and 8th GRADE CJSF

It is a MANDATORY requirement for students to apply each semester for membership during the application acceptance period.

Honor Society points are granted as follows:

    • A = 3 points*

    • C = 0 points

*Honors classes earn 1 additional point per "A" or "B" up to a maximum of two additional points.

1.) Students must earn a total of 8 points from the following subjects in the previous semester: Language Arts, Social Science, Mathematics, and Science.

2.) Foreign Language, S.T.E.A.M., and Dual Immersion Language Arts are the only electives that qualify

3.) No points are earned for PE, remedial, repeated courses, or electives (other than foreign language or STEAM taken in 7th or 8th grade).

4.) A grade of "D" or "F" in any class bars a student from membership.

5.) Behavior and citizenship grades must be maintained as satisfactory or better in all classes.  Students must maintain a minimum of 97 behavior points as well as have no "N" or "U" in any class. To find citizenship grades, go into Aeries and look under Grades > Transcripts > Course History > More.

6.) Students must reapply each semester.

7.) Transfer students can apply. See the Registrar in the Counselors' Office for help.
