The Teen Volunteer Program application opened on Saturday, February 1,2020 at this website:https://www.cedars-sinai.edu/hsvolunteers . Those teens selected to participate in the program must attend a Parent/Guardian and Teen Informational Session in March and then schedule their Orientation date in June. They can begin volunteering in June for Summer Session or in November for the Academic Session (weekends and after school).
The music department at the Agoura PAEC needs student volunteers.

The Dole Great Race needs 400 volunteers to ensure the event's success. This major event, celebrating 35 years of supporting Agoura and Oak Park schools, is the perfect opportunity to get involved in a fun, community-wide activity. The Jewish World Watch Teen Ambassador Program teaches teens about leadership, critical thinking and activism with regards to present-day genocide and mass atrocities. This program will help students become JWW ambassadors with community organizing and advocacy skills they can use to take action for positive change. There are 6 Sunday sessions beginning January 5, 2020 and students will receive service learning credit. Please sign up at jww.org/TAP.
The David Labkovski Project and Synergy Academics announce their new program--Docent Training Program for students interested in learning about the history of the Holocaust by engaging with the artwork of David Labkovski. Upon completion of this interactive educational training program, students will have the opportunity to serve as a docent as the exhibition travels to Chapman University, Cal Lutheran University and the offices of Synergy Academics. Receive service learning hours too! The trainings begin Thursday, January 9, 2020; Wednesday, January 22, 2020; Monday, February 3, 2020. Dinner will be provided. The City of Agoura Hills has volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Rec Club &Tiny Tot Camps: During the Spring Break you can work with kids at the City’s Rec Club Camps (ages 5-11) and Tiny Tot Camps (ages 3-5). This is offered as part of our Teen V.I.P. Program. Accepting applications now. Community Service Days: Community Service Days is on Saturday, April 25, 2020. If you like to work outdoors, this is a great opportunity for you! There will be multiple projects throughout Agoura Hills that you can be part of. This opportunity is open to all ages, so feel free to bring friends & family. "The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Students will receive 17.5 hrs if they attend all 7 classes. They then also earn the certificate of completion and a CERT bag that contains items e.g. helmet, flashlight, gloves, goggles, etc. The city of Agoura Hills offers a free class for Community Emergency Response/Disaster Response Training twice a year in fall and spring. If you're interested in the spring class, which begins March 31st, you have to register through Eventbrite Agoura CERT.Clean Streets, Woodland Hills, is a monthly service learning opportunity that needs volunteers. The project takes place on the third Saturday of every month beginning November 21st, through May 16, 2020. The group will meet at St. Luke Luthern Church parking lot, 5312 Comercio Way, Woodland Hills, CA 91364 at 7:30am. Their goal is to clean Ventura Blvd. and surrounding areas by cleaning the sidewalks of trash and cleaning tree wells. There will be no more 7 hour shifts. 10:00 - 1:00 & 1:00 - 5:00 are the shifts. 10 volunteers per shift. Students cannot sign up for 2 shifts.Community Tech Help Club--Earn service learning hours on the AHS campus! The Community Tech Help Club meets every other Tuesday, 3:30-5:30pm in the Media Center. Motion Picture and Television Fund -MPTF- is looking for volunteers, 14 years and older who have a positive and compassionate attitude and enjoy working with seniors. You will be working along with the Activities Department helping the residents with some of the following activities but not limited to: escorting the residents to the dining room for meals, church services, pet visits and lots more. Leisure Living is a small assisted living facility for the elderly in Agoura and would love students to spend time with the seniors and help with art, poetry, technology and music. Many Mansions is a nonprofit in Thousand Oaks that provides permanent and supportive housing for low-income families, the chronically homeless and any individual with disabilities (both mental and or physical). Besides housing they also offer Adult Services and Children Services. There is also a after school homework tutoring club. They need volunteers. My Kaleidoscope Project strives to provide girls (grades 5 - 9) with the resources and support necessary to succeed in times of stress, pressure, changes and media. Opportunities for personal growth, mentoring and relationship building are prioritized in all Project efforts. Girls that participate in Kaleidoscope gain self- esteem, confidence, coping mechanisms, tools for success and a close group of friends and support. They need high school students. The City of Westlake has an ongoing service learning opportunity--digitizing historical archives. Help is needed Monday- Friday during City Hall hours. Volunteers will be trained to access and scan through articles and publications to add to a digital archive. They will be tagging key elements and uploading it to the City's website. The Friendship Circle addresses children with special needs which includes children with Down’s syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, etc. The Friendship Circle addresses these challenges in a way the celebrates their uniqueness and individuality. By integrating the wisdom of professionals and the energetic spirit of teenagers, the Friendship Circle brings out the best from within all those involved. It has been found that through the gift of friendship, the young volunteers are able to reach the children in ways that most forms of therapy cannot. Assisteens is an auxiliary of Assistance League of Conejo Valley. This organization supports philanthropic programs and activities in the Conejo Valley. Sign up to be a member. They meet 1x a month from September- May and each member is required to complete 20 hours of community service hours per year. Assisteens help with the Shelter Hope Pet Shop and The Samaritan Center and the Cancer Care Community. They are accepting applications for the 2017-18 membership. Veterinary Angels-- needs volunteers to help clean the hospital and feed and walk the animals. This is a medical center that treats all animals--from small animals, exotic, zoo and livestock.
