Dear LVUSD Families, I hope that this message finds you doing well as we prepare for significant changes in our daily lives. Maintaining some sense of community is going to become critically important in the days and weeks ahead for all of our wellbeing. The entire LVUSD team is hard at work creating plans and resources for your children and you. We’ll have much more information in the coming days. Our team wanted to offer the following recommendations as we start the week:
Dear Families, Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and kindness as we enter this uncharted territory together. After extensive conversations with the Board of Education and state and local health officials during the past 24 hours, we have made the decision, out of an abundance of caution, and concern for the health and well-being of our students, staff, and our entire broader community, to close our school facilities for a minimum of two weeks beginning Monday, March 16 and lasting through through March 27th.
Dear Parents, As I shared in my communication yesterday, the Board of Education and I, along with the entire district leadership, are actively monitoring the fluid nature of the coronavirus outbreak across the United States and more specifically here in California. While there are no active cases of COVID-19 in LVUSD, we want to do our part in limiting contact and stopping the spread of the virus in the coming days. Given this, LVUSD is deploying plans to ensure our community is both prepared for the likelihood of long-term disruption and is protected from the virus.
Please complete our annual parent survey! This survey is offered annually to help inform and provide feedback to LVUSD about site and district efforts Your anonymous feedback will help us make important decisions about priorities and action areas for future years, so we can provide the best experience possible for families. We appreciate your time. Click here for the link to the survey.
As our community navigates the coming days going into the Thanksgiving holiday, LVUSD has identified resources related to supporting staff and families and possible reactions to the wildfires and the trauma of this past week. Please visit the Community360 Website (read more for link) for resources curated by our staff and partners at Ludington, Engage, and Give an Hour. Throughout the coming days, we’ll continue to update this page with support resources.
