Principal’s Message

How much do I love Sumac? So much! This much! My heart is so full!

It was a blast to see everyone yesterday. I was able to welcome students via Zoom and Google Meets today. Thank you for bearing the heat with us and thank you for another great start to the school year.

I hope everyone is enjoying their teacher meetings. Thank you to our teachers for taking the time to ease our minds and approach this transition with a more white-gloved strategy. Remember we are easing into the academic and taking time to learn routines and build relationships.

Remember to submit your virtual voyager vouchers to hear the name of a Valiant Voyager on my next week's Friday message.

Proud Principal,
Liberty Logan

School Site Council

As part of the school plan, we encourage the involvement of parents and families in the education of their children, I would like to cordially invite you to serve as an important member of our  School Site Council (SSC). We currently need four parent representatives.

The SSC meets five times throughout the year to decide how we can best meet the educational needs of your children.

The job of the SSC is to:

  1. Measure the effectiveness of improvement strategies at the school

  2. Seek input from school advisory committees (ELAC, PFA, Staff)

  3. Reaffirm or revise school goals

  4. Revise improvement strategies and expenditures

  5. Recommend the approved Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) to the Board of Education

  6. Monitor implementation of the SPSA

  7. Meeting Dates: 10/15/20, 12/10/20, 2/18/21, 4/22/21, 5/13/21

I would like to ask you to serve by putting your name on this Nomination Form below or by nominating someone who you believe will serve our school community by putting the interests of children first.

The names on the nomination form will be used for a voting ballot. Parents will be given the opportunity to vote for the parent members of the SSC. Parents who accept the nomination will need to write a short (no more than 100 words) statement CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP
