2011-2012 Interdistrict Permits

Inter-District Permit Applications

Important information for students who are renewing their permit:

Effective January 1, 2011 a new law, Assembly Bill (AB) 2444, simplifies the permit process for continuing permit students.  Under AB 2444, a student who is already enrolled in a school district on an interdistrict permit, no longer has to reapply annually for a release from their resident school district.  To renew your permit to attend LVUSD this year you must complete the LVUSD permit application using the link below.

All students applying for a permit for the first time will still need to get a release from their home school district.

If you have questions about whether or not you need to reapply for release from your home school district, please contact your home district or LVUSD permits office at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

These applications are for 2011-2012 permits only.  If these applications are filled out for 2012-2013 they will be discarded and the permit will not be granted.

Please select from one of the following:

Incoming Inter-district Permit Applications
(Applications for attendance in LVUSD)

For students who reside outside of LVUSD boundaries and wish to attend a LVUSD school,
including students who wish to renew an existing permit

Outgoing Inter-district Permit Applications
(Applications for Out-of-District Attendance)
(students who reside inside LVUSD boundaries and wish to attend a school outside the Las Virgenes Unified School District, including students who wish to renew an existing permit)

Superintendent's Message

Las Virgenes USD Community Members:

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 2012-13 school year.  Our goal is to help ensure that the year will be filled with inspiring and challenging learning opportunities for all students.

The Year Ahead

Public schools are often the topic of political and budget debates, and this fall will be no exception.  With a presidential election on the horizon and Governor Brown asking voters to weigh in on a tax initiative to support public schools, I expect there will be a tremendous amount of discussion around the notion that we must “fix our schools.”

As you evaluate these messages,  please keep in mind that some of the most essential ingredients required to create excellent learning and work environments are free, can never be cut from our District by political leaders and are in plentiful supply in Las Virgenes USD: a positive attitude, integrity, kindness and compassion for students and for each other.

Las Virgenes USD is a community in every sense of the word.

Our teachers and staff work together to share best practices, continuously striving to improve education for our students.

Our parents rally to support schools by working in classrooms, creating and implementing fundraising activities and supporting invaluable enrichment activities for our students.

Our city partners, including Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and Westlake Village, join with the District and our school sites helping us maintain and invest in services for students.

Our students are some of the most exceptional kids you will meet.  Each of the 11,300 students we serve has his or her own unique talents, gifts, challenges and potential. Every day the students serve as the greatest inspiration for our work.

The achievement of each student's unique potential is our goal, and I believe that bringing together the entire Las Virgenes USD community to support this mission is the surest way to make it reality.

I encourage you to become an active member of the Las Virgenes USD community by  joining the District’s community of supporters.  Together, we can make school a rewarding and inspiring experience for our students.

Respectfully,

Daniel D. Stepenosky, Ed.D.
