Mr. Misel is the principal at Agoura High School, having held this
position since 1998. He has worked in the Las Virgenes Unified School
District since 1994. Prior to coming to Agoura, he was the Assistant
Principal at Calabasas High School, from 1996 to 1998, and also
the Assistant Principal at Lindero Canyon Middle School, from 1994
to 1996.
Previous to working at LVUSD, Mr. Misel worked in the Oak Park
Unified School District from 1979 to 1994: from 1993 to 1994 he
was the Director of Alternative Educational Programs for the Oak
View (continuation) High School, Oak Park Adult Education, and the
Oak Park USD Summer School; also, he was the Principal for Oak View
(continuation) High School from 1989 to 1992; he was the Director
of Maintenance and Operations for Oak Park Unified School District,
the Assistant Principal at Oak Park High School, and the Principal
at Medea Creek Middle School from 1986 to 1989; he was the principal
at Oak View (continuation) High School from 1982 to 1986; from 1979
to 1982, at Oak Park High School, he was the Director of Student
Activities, the Varsity Baseball coach, and taught Social Science
and English.
In addition to LVUSD and the Oak Park Unified School District,
Mr. Misel worked in the El Segundo Unified School District, from
1972 to 1979, where he taught Social Sciences, was Director of Student
Activities, and coached Boys JV Football and Girls Varsity Softball.
He is a graduate of California State University Dominguez Hills,
and received his Masters Degree and Credential in Standard Secondary
Education from the same school. The Agoura/Las Virgenes Chamber
of Commerce named him outstanding educator for the year 2000.
